Funky Monkey has been active as a DJ, producer, beat boxer, drummer and MC since 2012 as well as a member of several music groups. As the founder of 141 Records, he produces for multiple artists, including REA who he’ll be performing with tonight.
REA’s writing spans poetry, lyrics, and investigative performance, often exploring identity, power, and resistance. She is the lyricist and vocalist of BRUDA, a project blending sharp lyricism with heavy instrumentals. For the past decade, REA has also collaborated closely with Funky Monkey, and together they have crafted a set that they’ll perform as the opening act for the launch.
