Freaky Friday will return with a renewed focus on January 30th 2026 (This Friday!), with live performances from K3Y, Omah Moon, Saint Griffin, Adil, Lil-Jun, VKNG, Funky Monkey, Jaye, Alpa The Man, and of course, a free for all open mic going down at Tipsy 303, in Rabat.

This will be a much anticipated return after an unplanned pause. Unfortunately, this gap was due to the loss of a family member, and a month-long stint in Nigeria for the founder and host Zion Not Zeeyon. The break however, has allowed for reflection, realignment, and a subtle rebranding.

Now, the timing feels right: the scene has grown, the energy is ready, and Freaky Friday is entering a new phase.

One of the biggest challenges for hip hop events is staying authentic as attention grows. Freaky Friday has found its answer in connection. The team stays present, hands-on, and in constant contact with both participants and the audience.

Growth doesn’t mean exclusivity, anyone can take the mic, from first-timers to the seasoned.The mission for the team has always been about creating a space where skill level doesn’t matter, and that hasn’t changed. And if you think this is a tame night of rap, think again.

Freaky Friday thrives on unpredictability. Past moments have ranged from performers getting caught up in crowd hype, to Police stepping in to arrest someone mid-performance. It’s messy, it’s spontaneous, and it’s exactly what gives the event its name.

For the Freaky Friday participants It’s more than a stage, it’s a chance to grow, connect, and be seen. Even if a performance doesn’t go as planned, each and everyone leaves with the experience, new connections, and a regular platform to expand their identity.

Shoutouts go to everyone who’s been part of the journey from the beginning, from the fans, to venues like Afro Deli. They also acknowledge their collaborators, including 141 Records, Muzika Underground, and the team at Underground Sound. Every person involved has helped keep the energy raw, real, and unfiltered.
