OXYGYN is an alternative indie-pop music outlet from Malta, producing tracks which reflect the human and societal condition.
With vocals by sibling duo Katia and Kurt, guitars by Zack Walters, and percussion by Funky Monkey, this young band strives to leave their unique mark on the pop music scene. A core element of their music is their lyrical and vocal content, which abstractly focuses on the complex paradigms of humanity. The band also self-produces and self-records their music.
Starting out their journey in 2015 with their first release 'CORRODE', Oxygyn has produced several other songs, including 'BUBBLEWRAP', 'BLINDFOLD', 'VENOM', 'WICKED WHITE LIES', ‘MERCY’ and 'CLOUDMAKER', which outline their artistic development from their indie-folk foundation to darker electronic and guitar-led compositions. OXYGYN also collaborated with the Maltese DJ LEX on a track titled ‘COMATOSE’, and in 2022, OXYGYN released their first track in their native Maltese language, ‘PURGATORJU’. In 2024, OXYGYN released their debut studio album, entitled 'COMPOUND'.
