ARTIVISTI 2026 | Where Art Meets Activism

  • 2 min read

At 141 Records, we’ve always believed that music and art are more than creative outlets, they’re tools for change. That’s why we’re excited to spotlight the 6th edition of ARTIVISTI, an 18-month mentorship programme by Arts Council Malta and Aġenzija Żgħażagħ.

If you’re a young creative aged 18–25 who believes art can shape society, challenge narratives, and inspire real conversations

this is your call.

ARTIVISTI is more than a mentorship programme. It’s a platform for growth, responsibility, and transformation through art.

Over 18 months, selected participants develop bold ideas through:

  • One-to-one mentorship

  • Knowledge exchange sessions

  • Practice-based research

  • Critical dialogue and collaboration

The programme recognises outstanding young talent and nurtures it in ways that go beyond technique, focusing on socially engaged creativity and impact.

As a creative community, we’ve witnessed first-hand how initiatives like ARTIVISTI empower young artists to think deeper and aim higher.

Several artists within the extended 141 network have engaged with past editions of

ARTIVISTI. What stood out most was the shift in perspective:

  • Moving from creating for expression to creating with intention

  • Understanding how artistic projects can spark dialogue within communities

  • Gaining confidence in presenting work within a critical and professional framework

Participants often speak about the value of mentorship, having experienced practitioners challenge their thinking, refine their ideas, and support their growth.

For young artists navigating identity, social issues, and creative direction, ARTIVISTI provides structure without limiting experimentation, something that truly resonates with the ethos of 141 Records.

This initiative is a powerful collaboration between Aġenzija Żgħażagħ and Arts Council Malta, two organisations committed to empowering young people and strengthening Malta’s cultural landscape.
